Kalie Reams helps women feel amazing so they can confidently conquer their day without pain, stiffness, swelling, or pelvic problems (like leaking or painful sex).
Kalie believes that women are strong and giving but often sacrifice so much out of love that they neglect their own needs. Kalie has a passion for empowering these women, revitalizing their energy levels, and helping them return to the pain-free life they deserve.
Kalie has always been interested in general orthopedics however she became interested in women’s health after finding herself in need of pelvic floor therapy. With her mother, aunt, cousin, and grandmother surviving breast cancer, Kalie has deepened her knowledge of this population and how to help others recovering from cancer and cancer treatments.
Kalie says, “I experienced pelvic pain for over a year. I initially thought it would just get better, but it never did. My emotions fluctuated all over the place. I felt anger, loneliness, and frustration.
When I realized how badly it was affecting myself and my loved ones, I knew it was time to seek help. It was hard. I felt embarrassed. I was young and did not know how many other people suffer from this. I then went to several doctors without much success. Finally, a doctor who ran out of options said why not try pelvic floor physical therapy. This PT changed my life. She encouraged me to listen to my body and provided treatment techniques I could immediately get relief from.
Watching my mother go through surgery, radiation and infections opened my eyes to how much more cancer survivors fight! Not only do they fight cancer but they power through unbelievable treatments that cause lasting damage. I saw the need for whole-body care following these treatments, especially early to prevent worse problems later in life.
I want to create a safe environment for all women, who feel afraid of seeking care. I want other women to know that they are not alone and that there is help.”
Kalie Reams graduated with a BS in Kinesiology from California State University San Marcos in San Marcos, CA. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY.
